When do I need my-files
I need my-files if I:

Personal
Greeting Cards/E-Cards
Surprise your friends, acquaintances
or your family with your own personal greeting card! Whether it's
Christmas or whether you're on holiday, whether it's for a loved-one
or just as a reminder - there are countless occasions for sending
nice, cheeky, or simply funny greetings.
Any photo in your album at my-files will do. You can upload new
themes from your computer or save them from the Internet to your
my-files photo album.

Photo
album
At my-files you can create a digital
photo album with just a few mouse clicks and share it with your
friends immediately. Saved files are shown as thumbnails in an index.
The search for the desired image through obscure abbreviations is
over.
Or simply sit back and enjoy an automatic slideshow. To view the
images, just click on the arrow keys as you are used to from your
CD player or simply have all photos presented to you automatically.
As soon as you set up visitor rights, others are able to see your
latest snapshots immediately. Other options:
Send your favourite picture or the link to it by Email or place
it directly into the inbox of friends registered at my-files.
What
makes it really handy is that you don't require any additional
software on your computer. All you need is your Internet browser.
My-files
puts your personal photo album on
the World Wide Web.
Slide shows for auctions and forums
One
picture is not enough. To show all pictures from your party
or vacation or present your article at an online auction
include a complete slide show. Simply copy your
pictures
to the my-photos album, select the pictures, click
on Link
and
paste the URL or HTML code into an email, web-page, or
article description.

While
travelling
Take advantage of my-files to always
be able to access your most important information. Whether you are
at work, at home or travelling. Whenever you have access to the
Internet, you automatically have access to your my-files, too.
And if you prefer to travel without any hardware: Sit back and relax
with a drink at the Internet café while writing your travel journal.
While you're still out there, your colleagues can already read all
about the highlights of your motorcycle trip through the USA.

School
or college student
If you use the computer lab at your
college or school all the time, you know the problem: usually all
data must be deleted from the hard drive at the end of each session.
While it is still relatively easy to copy text documents to floppy
disks, graphics or other image files offer more challenges: they're
impossible to copy without the inconvenience of having to compress
them first.
And it's even more annoying, if you can't even start working because
you forgot the current version of your thesis or paper on your machine
at home.
At my-files you always have access to the latest version of your
documents without having to carry a pile of floppy disks.

 |
At
work
The company network or your work computer
is not the appropriate place to save private files. Especially not
if you're sharing your computer with a colleague or your documents
are confidential.
At my-files you can be sure that only you have access to sensitive
information. And that therefore neither the draft of your letter
of resignation nor your application to take maternity or paternity
leave become the talk of the town all of a sudden.

Large
Emails
Emails with attachments can be a pain.
If the attached files are too large, many free mail services reject
them automatically: usually more than a total of 3 MB per message
is not available.
But even commercial providers often cause trouble: Sometimes attachments
can't be opened. Or large volumes of data need to be sent in several
separate messages as even a zipped version of the file can clog
up a slow modem connection.
The alternative is simple: my-files is accessible from any computer.
Emails with attachments are outdated.

In
a team
Most companies by now have set up powerful
networks: documents are stored in folders with unrestricted access,
graphics can be viewed by multiple users, databases are available
to all users simultaneously.
None of this is in place for your private computer at home: your
home PC is not hooked up to any system. But even here at times several
users may need to access files simultaneously: students prepare
presentations in a group. Various authors contribute to school or
organisational newsletters. It's a good idea to have the entire
team work on the most current version of each article.
Take advantage of my-files as your private network to share files
in small groups.

MP3s
The huge variety of music in digital
format that is currently available to download from the Internet
is causing a panic within the music industry. If you too are an
MP3 fan and use a free mail service, you are probably familiar with
the following problem: Your average song exceeds your mail message
limit. So how can you still share MP3s with your friends?

of the operating system you are running. Whether Windows, Apple
Macintosh or Linux. All you need to use my-files is an Internet
browser.

Virtual
floppy drive
Mac users know all about the consequences
of a lack of an internal floppy drive. As the new Macs come without
floppy drives, users can't simply save data to a floppy disk and
transfer them to a different machine. Now there's a solution: my-files
- the 'virtual drive' for all computers with an Internet connection.
Including machines without floppy drives.

Import
